Question by cal1nu: Should I sell my 2008 W BUFFALO 1 OZ PROOF gold coin now?
Will the current market price for this coin which is currently 00, drop when the economy recovers? Should I sell it now when the price for gold is at the highest? Will the value of this coin keep on increasing since it has the lowest mintage of all gold buffalo ever minted. Or will the price for this coin drop sharply when the 2010 gold buffalo is minted next year?

it is really up to you and your wants/needs. there is no way of knowing what will happen in the future, but if you can get 00 for it now, i'd jump on that now because that seems pretty high.

Question by montoy_vlv: How much a 2008 American Buffalo gold coin cost now?
I'm trying to sell my American Buffalo gold coin. On the US Mint website, the 2009 gold coin costs ,400. Can I sell my 2008 gold coin the same price?

Answer by Taiping
What a coin sells for and what a dealer will pay are two different stories. Gold right now is going up but does drop some during the week. It is a day by day thing. The only ad I have for the gold buffalo no matter what date is a dealer will pay spot plus . Gold right now is #,191.50 . This value changes daily so it is best to sell when gold is high. You can get gold spot by typing in gold spot. You need to check with dealers, for gold and gold coin values depend a lot on the price of gold at the time of sale. Only rare collector gold coins have a large collectable value added.

Question by babybunny91: can i get cash for a 2010 gold buffalo tribute proof?
The Gold Buffalo Coin is the purest gold coin ever made by the U.S. government. It’s the first U.S. coin ever struck using .9999 Pure 24 KT Gold. Its design is based on the famous Buffalo nickel minted from 1913 to 1938. Wildly popular with investors and collectors, the U.S. government had to stop production because of a shortage of specially made gold blanks. It’s no wonder the price of the last edition is going through the roof! Now, you can reserve your own copy of the 2010 Buffalo Gold Clad Tribute Proof in 31 mg of pure gold.

National Collector’s Mint’s private, non-monetary minting recreates James Earle Fraser’s American Buffalo against a mirror-like background on one side and his iconic Native American Indian Head stands out in stunning relief on the other. The final issue price was to be set at per proof. But, during our special release, this 24 KT Pure Gold clad masterpiece can be yours for only .95. With gold skyrocketing past ,000 an ounce, price can only be guaranteed for 7 days. Limit 5 per order.

Could I take this to a jewelery place and get cash for them?

Question by beekieboo: Bright red dot on gold buffalo coin.?
I have a 2006 Proof Gold Buffalo never been touched by human hands but is has a Bright red dot on the Indians cheek. I need to know if that makes it worth more or less?

Best answer:

Answer by liberty 911
Regardless of the cause, a red dot would not increase its value. It sounds as if the coin is either in a thin sealed mylar mint packaging, or a hard "plastic" case. It is possible the red dot is attached to its container. If it is attached to the coin, it could increase in size over the years depending upon what it is. I would recommend taking the coin to a local coin expert or two for an evaluation. I hope that helps.

Question by klygen: Does anyone know where I can find the value of a 1992 California 1 ounce gold coin?
It is a 1 ounce gold coin (.9999) dated 1992 with a grizzly and cub on one side, and the Great Seal of the State of California on the other. Anyone know?

Best answer:

Answer by liberty 911
This eBay auction is for a coin of different year and weight, but it is all based upon the current value of an ounce of gold, since it is not all that old. The coin would be worth close to 00 US right now.

Question by Gary S: What would be the weight of a typical plastic five gallon bucket 3/4 ways filled with one ounce gold coins?
Seriously! I am just curious because I just saw an actor and an actress lift what was supposedly the bucket and in my mind I'm thinking it should be way heavier than they made it look. They acted like it weighed about 100 lbs. Am I wrong?

Best answer:

Answer by Wahkeen The Witch Doctor
4.78 pounds. The mass of the two different items wouldent come out as much
